SAM-FENGZHENGJIE'S PRIMARY COLOURS EXHIBITION Feng ZhengJie, whose artworks are displayed at the Singapore Art museum, Primary Colours, is an artist from China. He's artworks are done with beautiful and powerful colours and the colours he uses display not onli emotions of joy and elation, but also create feelings of unease and misgiving. Despicts traditional symbols with exaggerated gaiety, they also critique the excesses of comtemporary China. Contradictions of a society thattreads uncomfortably between dual systems of capitalism and communism. His colours possess an ominous aura that is unsettling and unearthly.
He started creating his artworks in 1992 all the way til present. His artworks are mainly oil on canvas and the size of his artworks are within 130x110cm(the smallest displayed in the Singapore Art Museum) to 300x300cm. According to my inference, Feng zhengjie's artworks are created in such big sizes so that they could show the expressions in the pictures, revealing it's secrets and contradictions within, and as a highlight to the contradicing feelings the paintings possess.
